How to study to better understand your Bible

My Friend you should study the Bible itself, not books about the Bible if it's the Bible you really want to understand. The Bible is the best commentary on Scripture you will ever find.

2Timothy 2:15. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Timothy 2:16. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Paul is writing about the Bible in verse 15, and discussions on books about the Bible in verse 16. For a better understanding of the use of  right division check out Miles Coverdale's formula below! Without right division, the Scriptures are truly veiled! It is very easy to see if your church uses right division, do they start the church the body of Christ at Pentecost? If so, they are not using right division!! In this chart  Miles Coverdale explains how to rightly divide the Word of Truth.

Miles Coverdale 1488 to1569

It shall greatly help you to understand Scripture,

if you mark not only what is spoken or written but,

of whom or to whom with what words, at what time,

where, to what intent, and with what circumstances,

consider, what goes before, and what follows after.

Miles Coverdale, was the first man to complete translating the entire Bible into the English language. While the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is an accurate record of events and sayings of men, we must remember: All Scripture is for me. But it is not all addressed to me nor is it all written about me.

William R Newell- 1868 to1956

"You can judge any man's preaching or teaching by this rule: Is he Pauline? Does his doctrine start and finish according to those statements of Christian doctrine uttered by the Apostle Paul? No matter how wonderful a man may seem in his gifts and apparent consecration: if his Gospel is not Pauline, it is not the Gospel; and we might as well get our minds settled at once as to that."

Romans 11:13. For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Galatians 1:8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:9. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Don't forget our gospel is the gospel that Christ gave to the apostle Paul by revelation, as noted in Romans 16:25-26. My friend you will see these three verses many times in everything that I write, because they are so very important for us to understand. You may think that the four Gospels with the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ has the best message and that you understand it much better. In that case you missed Matthew chapter 10, and 15 even if it were speaking to you, look what it says! In Matthew 15:26 Gentiles are considered as dogs and that is not cute lovable puppies as an old evangelist once said.

Matthew 10:5-6. These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matthew 15:24-26. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

My friend Christ is not talking to you,in Matthew 10 but, He is talking about you in Chapter 15 and it is all negative! You should really study the writings of your own apostle.

A strange Question but a good one

A reader asked me: Is Christ Jesus, the same person, as Jesus Christ? The answer is clearly yes He is! I counted the times that the apostle Paul calls Him the Lord Jesus Christ, and it was around 119 times, Paul calls Him Christ Jesus around 55 times. In the KJV He is called Christ Jesus 196 times and, Jesus Christ 58 times, Lord Jesus 118 times and Lord Jesus Christ 84 times. For each variation of His name, it is just as correct to call Him God. Because, the Lord Jesus Christ, is God!

From time to time God changes the name of a prophets or apostle to make a statement. Noah, Noe and Isiah, Isa, Hosea Osee then Peter, Cephas. Abram Abraham and so on. In the case of Saul of Tarsus, his Roman name was Paul. Then after Saul's conversion God refers to him as Paul. Now for the different names or phrases for the gospel Click here .

Paul told the Corinthians

1Corinthians 4:1. Let a man so account of us as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards, of the mysteries of God.

1Corinthians 4:2. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Are you familiar with the mystery gospel of Jesus Christ that Paul speaks of? Please allow me to explain. You will find this mystery gospel in Paul's thirteen books or letters; Romans through Philemon. The gospel of Jesus Christ that Paul that preached was a secret hid in the mind of God, since the world began. The Lord Jesus Christ communicated this mystery to the apostle Paul by revelation. The apostle Paul made it  known to the entire world; in his 13 books or letters. In Romans 16:25, Paul calls this mystery the preaching of Jesus Christ, he also calls it my gospel.

In 2Corinthians 4:3-4, Paul explains, that if our gospel be hid it is hid to them that are lost, then in verse 4 Paul tells us why we would be lost. Christ's mystery gospel is, that whole body of truth written to and for us by the apostle Paul. Paul alone received this gospel of the grace of God, he wrote it down for us in thirteen books or letters, Romans through Philemon. Make no mistake about it, Paul's gospel of the grace of God is completely different from the gospel preached by Christ and the twelve, after Christ's earthly ministry there was a dispensational change.

Christ and the twelve preached under the law. Paul and his helpers preached under the pure grace of God without the law. You should understand that both messages come from the Lord Jesus Christ, but the message preached by Christ and the twelve was for the Jews only. Paul's message is of the pure grace of God, it my friend is for both Jews and Gentiles alike, there is no difference, it is the only valid message for salvation for the entire world today. Do you know why so many evangelists feel such a need to bash Paul?

Over the years I have heard well known evangelists bash the apostle Paul thereby turning Paul's ministry off, to their gullible listeners! Paul is a chosen vessel unto God, hear ye him!

Look once more at Acts 9:15-16 Why can't they understand that Paul has the only message of salvation for the world today. 1Corinthians 15:2 says that it it is by Paul's gospel that we are saved. Christ said, Paul is a chosen vessel unto me! I'm sorry, but I still can not find the Scripture that says we should disrespect the apostle Paul or any one else that God chooses to lead us. Think about that: 1Corinthians 11:1 God said, follow Paul as Paul follows Christ, why Paul? Romans 11:13

Romans 11:13. For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

For our salvation

1Corinthians 15:1. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Corinthians 15:2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1Corinthians 15:3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1Corinthians 15:4. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Please tell me, how do you believe in vain?  Very simply, you believe, that the gospel that was preached by Christ and the Twelve is for your salvation, instead of Paul's gospel of the grace of God, or that these two gospels can be mixed. That my friend is how you believe in vain. The most important part of verse two is: We are saved by the gospel that Paul preached.

Warning IF Paul's Gospel be Hid

2Corinthians 4:3. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost;

2Corinthians 4:4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

We are saved when we believe in Christ's finished work on the cross, Paul's gospel. Christ died for all of our sins, He was buried then after three nights and three days in the heart of the earth God raised Him from the dead. Then after forty days here on earth teaching the twelve, He returned to the Father's right hand, where he makes intercession for us day and night. Christ gave the nation of Israel a one year extension of mercy to bear fruit. At the end of that year, the Jews stoned Stephen, thereby loosing their exalted nation status.

From heaven Christ reached down to earth and saved Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus, Saul's Roman name is Paul, Paul was given the Word of salvation for the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. In the dispensation of the grace of God both Jew and Gentile alike, must believe Paul's gospel of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery. This mystery was kept secret since the world began, it is the gospel by which we are saved, if we believe not, we are for ever condemned! Why was Paul given a new gospel? Because the first gospel was to and for the Jews only. It was being set aside and put on hold by God to await the tribulation.

The mystery revealed

The Lord Jesus Christ revealed the mystery gospel of the grace of God to the apostle Paul alone, it was a secret hid in the mind of God, since the world began. God tells us, this secret can only be found in Scripture written by Paul! That is why Paul calls this secret gospel my gospel.  My friend, Paul received his gospel from the risen and glorified Lord Jesus Christ in heaven by revelation. Paul said, that he got nothing from men.

Romans 16:25.  Now to Him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

Romans 16:26. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandments of the everlasting God,made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

Romans 16:25 tells us that, we are stablished by Paul's gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul tells us, this gospel had been kept secret, hid in the mind of God since the world began. But, now it is made known to the entire world by the apostle Paul. My friend the gospel that Christ and the twelve preached had been prophesied by the mouth of all of God's holy prophets since the world began. Christ did not allude to the gospel of the grace of God when He walked here on earth. Only Paul received this gospel. When we believe Paul's Gospel, we are saved, then we are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ without a drop of water.

Now we are stewards of the mysteries of Christ for the church the body of Christ. My friend very clearly, God said, to faithfully proclaim Paul's gospel of Jesus Christ which is according to the revelation of the mystery, apart from the law of Moses. Because Paul's message is the only gospel for the entire world today. According to Galatians 1:8-9, my Bible says, preach no other gospel. If we preach another gospel, God said, let him be accursed! I really wonder why so many highly acclaimed Biblical scholars do not seem to understand 2Corinthians 4:3-4! On the other hand if Paul's gospel is hid from them, we quickly find the answer in 2Corinthians 4:4.

God said Preach No Other Gospel therefore,
He was talking to everyone who preaches

Galatians 1:8. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:9. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

You just read Galatians 1:8-9, I hope you understand what it is saying? Do you see that it is an all inclusive warning? Do you see this warning being  heeded in our local churches today? God says, of those preachers, let him be accursed! I always thought that the accursed could not stand at the Bema seat of Christ, that they must stand before the Great White Throne! But in this case to be accursed means to be removed from fellowship and from any teaching position. Although I am sure that saved pastors who preach the gospel of the kingdom, for salvation for today, when they stand before the Bema Seat of the Lord Jesus Christ they will be ashamed.

You should take another look at Galatians 1:8-9! It means, we have no license from God to preach any other gospel than the gospel that Paul preached, the gospel of the grace of God, and not the gospel of the kingdom preached by Jesus and the twelve. Just take another look at: 2Corinthians 4:3 where Paul said, if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. Look at verse 4 it tells us why we would be lost! My friend, you should not believe the big lie, that says: Paul preached the same gospel, that Christ and the twelve preached. He did not!

Christ Had To Suffer And Die First

In John 12:24 Christ said, that He had to die be buried and be raised again, after three nights and three days, then return to the Father, before he could accommodate the Gentiles. 1Corinthians 15:1-4 says, Christ died, was buried and arose again from the dead after three nights and three days in the heart of the earth. He returned to the Father after 40 days teaching the twelve. He reached down and save Saul of Tarsus and sent him to the Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel. In Matthew 15:24 the Lord Jesus tells us that He came only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He had to die be buried and raise again before He could bring salvation to this lost world.

Matthew 15:24. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

John 12:24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Here Jesus is speaking of his own death burial and resurrection, that will bring salvation to the Gentiles.

1Corinthians 13:10 is the verse that started my bible studies

1Corinthians 13:10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part will be done away.

At first I thought 1Corinthians 13:10, was speaking of the Lord Jesus Himself, because, He alone is perfect, but my friend His completed Word, is that which is perfect here, that Paul is speaking of. God's Word that had been kept secret, hid in the mind of God since the foundation of the world. With the completion of 2Timothy, that which is perfect was fully come. Therefore, that which is in part is gone. That which is in part, is the gospel of the kingdom, the sign gifts, and the law, now they are gone.

Paul's mystery gospel is unsearchable thru out all of the other Scriptures. When the Lord Jesus Christ walked on earth, He never spoke of that which is perfect. Therefore He gave that which is perfect to the apostle Paul alone from heaven. That which is perfect is for the whole world, Jews and Gentiles alike because, now in God's sight there is no difference. The Lord Jesus Christ saved Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus, outside of the nation of Israel. Christ chose Saul, also known as Paul, to be our example for everlasting life, look at, 1Timothy.

1Timothy 1:16. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

The Lord Jesus Christ sent Paul to Arabia for three years, where He taught him the basic gospel of the grace of God by revelation. Christ sent Paul to the Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel, with a new gospel. This gospel is that which is perfect because, it is the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery. This is that which was kept secret, hid in the mind of God since the world began, but now is made known to His saints by the apostle Paul. Please understand, Paul's gospel, is not the gospel of the kingdom!

Right Division

2Timothy 2:15. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Timothy 2:16. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness

My friend, you must rightly divide the Word of Truth, the most important thing here to do. God the Holy Spirit has designed His Word to be understood! You and I should know, the Holy Spirit is the author of all Scripture, not the individual writers, because they were God's pens. The Holy Spirit does not war against Himself there is no code. You must separate Paul's writings from the other writers, and rightly divide them, that way you can better understand who God is speaking to! You must also remember, Paul's writings are progressive. Such as:

At the beginning of Paul's ministry, Paul baptized maybe eight souls, he didn't remember if he baptized anymore. God must have shown him it was not necessary to water baptize members of the church the body of Christ, 1Corinthians 1:17 says,  for Christ sent me not to baptize. Now look at 1Corinthians 12:13 do you see why, Paul did not baptize, My friend the Holy Spirit is the baptizer for the church the body of Christ. Paul spoke in tongues, he heal the sick, etc. But after Acts 28:28 all sign gifts were removed, even from Paul.

Therefore, anyone claiming sign gifts today, please be aware sign gifts are not from the God of heaven!  Did you understand what I just said? Don't be fooled because, sign gifts for today are from the god of this world Satan!

God Breathed

2Timothy 3:16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Did you know that some folks still say ,that the Apostle Paul should not be in our Bibles? But, my friend, God does not agree at all with that! Please look at Acts 9:15, here God very clearly says, Paul is a chosen vessel into me, if God chose Paul, then how can we reject him? Please understand that there are absolutely no provisions for salvation for you and me written by any other Scripture writer. God gave them to the apostle Paul  alone! That does not mean that Paul saves us, because he does not. Paul teaches us, if we believe the gospel of the grace of God, 1Corinthians 15:1-4, we are saved.

You must understand that those who say Paul should be ban from God's Bible, please, reconsider, because there would be no provisions for salvation for neither Jew nor Gentile today? Therefore, the Lord Jesus said, Paul is a chosen vessel unto me. Paul was the key by which the door of salvation was opened to the Gentiles, and now for the Jews as well, according to the revelation of the mystery, that had been kept secret, hid in the mind of God since the world began.

Christ Sent Paul To Both

Acts 9:13. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

Acts 9:14. And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

Acts 9:15. But the Lord said unto Ananias, Go thy way: for Saul is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Acts 9:16. For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Please, look once more at Acts 9:15! Very clearly God tells Ananias, "Saul is a chosen vessel unto me". You must understand, that unto me means, get this, if Paul's gospel is hid from you, you are lost! My question is: wouldn't that also indicate, the folks who say, Paul should not be in God's Bible, are themselves lost? If Paul's writings are not there, then the Gentiles would have no hope! Matthew 15:24 says Christ came only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. There would be no need to pay attention to these next verses, because they would not be written.

And neither would Acts 9:13-15 exist. 20% of our Bible would be gone, but God is in control and the Apostle Paul's writings are in our Bibles to stay!

2Corinthians 4:3. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost;

2Corinthians 4:4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Did you see that?  If the things that Paul wrote are hid from you, "God said", you are lost! Notice verse four clearly tells you why! If those questionably so-called Christians, or so-called believers could possibly understand and take more serious Galatians 1:8-9 plus 2Corinthians 4:3-4, we could better teach God's Word to the hungry masses. I do not believe, you would do harm to Scripture, if you read 2Corinthians 4:3 this way: But if Paul's gospel is hid from you, you are lost.

It is very important to understand, that is what Paul was saying here, because the gospel that Paul calls my gospel, is the gospel of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, it was kept secret, hid in God since the world began.

Approved unto God

What did Paul mean, when he told Timothy if you study and rightly divide the Word of Truth you will not be ashamed? Where will you not be ashamed? At the Bema Seat of Christ. Furthermore what does rightly divide the Word of Truth really mean? Finally how is this done, and where do you start? Check out Miles Coverdale, the first man to complete a translation of the entire Bible into the English language, he found the key. It goes something like this:

"It shall greatly help you to understand Scripture, if you mark not only what is spoken or written, but of whom and to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, and with what circumstances, considering, what goes before, and what follows after".

I must admit, at the beginning of my Bible studies I did not know what right division was or what it meant. Therefore I was confused, and most of my research consisted of asking certain preachers that I met, what is that which is perfect? I did not realize what a big mistake this was! I truly expected these men to know the correct answers. I failed to do what Paul told Timothy to do: He said, in Timothy 2:15, study to show thyself, approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. My Friend if you, haven't followed those instructions, please learn to do so right away, it will make a huge difference in all your studies!

Consider this, the only authority, for the Bible, is the Bible itself! With that being said!  The best answers for Scripture will come directly from Scripture. The answers in all of the books, have their writers own slant on things, therefore if it does not follow the Scripture throw it out. My Friend in most and maybe all of the modern translations you will find the Word of God not only slanted, but you will find it very tightly twisted, but these writings too are accused of being God's Word Itself. To avoid this problem, I use the KJV without the Apocrypha and pseudepigrapha. Difficult words yes, but I have a Bible dictionary and so should you for your studies.

1Corinthians 13:10 was My reason for writing

Many years ago, in one of those Sunday evening services; I hope you can still remember a time when we used to spend more than just  one hour a week in church. Pastor Albert Bray asked the congregation as I recall, a two part question: The first part being: What did Paul mean when he said, when that which is perfect is come?  That which is in part will be done away! Therefore what is that which is perfect? And what is that which is in part that will be done away with? Like most of the congregation, my thoughts were: That which is perfect is speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, because, He alone is perfect. Therefore I began to look for answers.

1Corinthians 13:10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. Some versions said, the perfect, while others said, that which is perfect, and one just said, when perfection comes. In my early studies I did not use right division, I didn't even know what it was. My friend, do not turn your belief system over to someone else, they will not answer to God for you!  You, should study, to show yourself, approved unto God.

A very important note to make here is: Without right division," it is impossible to understand the Scripture ". The only verse in the Bible where God tells you how to study His Word  2Timothy 2:15. Brothers and sisters in Christ not knowing how to rightly divide the Word of Truth is, the major plague for the majority of Christendom today! But that error can be corrected by using Coverdales template and following this next verse.

2Timothy 2:15. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Acts 9:16. For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

God said, for us to rightly divide the word of truth, and my friend the Word of Truth is the Bible, not books about the Bible. If you do not know how to rightly divide the Word of Truth , check out Miles Coverdale's key above, and follow his template. The best suggestion is, since only the apostle Paul writes instructions to and for the body of Christ, his writings should be separated from all of the others. We can learn from the others but they are not ours to practice. Paul's writings are progressive therefore some of the things he wrote are no longer valid. Before Acts 28:28 he spoke in tongues, and healed the sick, that, is no longer valid.

Therefore you must understand and use right division, or the Scriptures are veiled. If the words are not clear, how will they make since, in order to make since many of us quickly glance over them, and pretend that's really not what the writer meant to say. At this time we have troubles with archaic words with bad spelling. I try to stay true to most of KJV's spellings. But when some one asked me what does shew mean? I now spell shew,--- s h o w --- because that is what it means! I'm sorry, but I just can not get a deeper meaning from--- shew--- instead of show.

Keep in mind, all of the words the apostle Paul wrote or dictated for us came directly from the risen and glorified Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. And these words were most likely in Hebrew, Paul or the Scribe wrote them from right to left, but we read and write from left to right. God's Words came to Paul by revelation and they are God's Words. My Friend they mean exactly what they say. The other Scriptures are also Gods Word, but, He is not speaking to us, He is speaking to some one else.

My friend, the words that God gave to the apostle Paul, are meant especially for you and me. But all of the words must be understood by it's readers, else you are speaking into the air. Look what Paul says about speaking words of understanding. As for me on the written page, I would rather write 5 words that folks understand than 10,000 word that they don't understand. Therefore I believe that when I change a word that is misunderstood or not understood at all from the KJV, I believe I am following Paul's instructions.

1Corinthians 14:19. Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

The Answers

Sadly I found answers for 1 Corinthians 13:10 from those preachers were all a bit different from each other. Actually, they completely missed the point altogether, because, like me, they did not use right division!  Finally my last suggestion was: It will be when we receive our resurrection or glorified bodies! Truly that, will be perfect, but again it is definitely not what the apostle Paul was speaking of here! I am sure, because we must be alive here on this earth, to discover, that which is perfect. Therefore understand, that which is perfect has already come! And that is before we ever receive our resurrection and glorified bodies.

1Corinthians 13:10 clearly states, when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. Therefore that which is perfect must come first. Then in Acts 28:25-28 that which is in part was done away. The kingdom gospel and the sign gifts are in part, now they are gone. 1Corinthians 13:8 lists three things that will fail, cease or vanish away, when that which is perfect is come, well now, they are gone. But, Christ has not returned and we do not have our resurrection or glorified bodies. Therefore, neither Christ's return, nor our resurrection or glorified bodies are that which the apostle Paul through the Holy Spirit declared to be that which is perfect.

Hopefully you remember, the gospel of the grace of God, is Paul's gospel of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret hid in God since the world began, my friend Paul's gospel is that which is perfect! Therefore, Paul calls it, my gospel. That which is in part was the kingdom gospel and the sign gifts that were done away with! Now they are gone, as of Acts 28:28. Understand, God set Israel's exulted nation status aside in Acts 7 with the stoning of Stephen. The nation was completely set aside, in Acts 28:25-28.

Now God, deals with all men the same. From heaven Christ made in Himself of Jew and Gentile alike, one new man making peace! Once more without Paul's gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery the Gentiles are lost, without hope! According to (Ephesians 2:12). But now, through the blood of Jesus Christ we have hope Ephesians 2:13.

Israel's Sign Gifts have ceased and vanished away

1Corinthians 13:8. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

You must understand that neither Jew nor Gentile can know the Lord Jesus Christ personally today, without first believing the gospel of the grace of God, according to the revelation of the mystery, 1Corinthians 15:1-4, without the law.  Therefore that which is perfect is the gospel of the grace of God, that had been hid in the mind of God since the world began. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that Paul preached is for our salvation today. The importance of Paul's gospel, is found in (2Corinthians 4:3-4). Look at 1Corinthians 15:2 it says that we are saved by the gospel that Paul preached.

That means you can not be saved apart from Paul's Gospel of Jesus Christ, that includes Jew and Gentile alike. When Paul completed 2Timothy; he completed the gospel of the grace of God; the Word of God was fulfilled. The mystery gospel is no longer a secret. Because, that which is perfect has come! That which is in part, the gospel of the kingdom, is no longer valid. Because, that which is perfect has fully come. Paul's gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, is that which is perfect!

1Corinthians 13:10. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part will be done away.

Sunday evening Bible Study Answers

Several years after that enlightening Sunday evening Bible study the same preacher who asked the question: "What did Paul mean when he said, when that which is perfect is come?" He shared his answer with me, he had been searching as well. He said, " that which is perfect" is the mystery that had been hid in the mind of God, not just somewhere in the pages of the Scripture. Christ revealed the mystery to the apostle Paul for the church, the body of Christ.

Therefore that which is perfect was not foretold by the prophets, nor was it mentioned in the four Gospels; the Lord Jesus did not allude to it during His earthly ministry to the Jews only under the law. That which is perfect is strictly a Pauline truth, it was first revealed to the apostle Paul alone, by the risen and glorified Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. The mystery gospel was God's perfect unsearchable secret, that Christ would save the Gentiles apart from the nation Israel and make of the Jew and the Gentile one new man in Himself.

At this Point God changed the way He deals with all of mankind, it brought in a new dispensation called the dispensation of the grace of God. Only the Jews converted under Paul's ministry are part of the one new man. Actually neither the twelve nor the Little Flock are in the one new man.

Jews, and Gentiles are now the same, neither one is under the Mosaic law. From this group Christ created in Himself the one new man that He calls the church the body of Christ. This new creation is not part of Israel's church of the Little Flock, that was found at Pentecost, it is completely new. From the very start it was a new creation, God also created a new dispensation, which He calls the dispensation of the grace of God for this new church. Paul was charged with dispensing this new gospel of the grace of God that had been kept secret hid in the mind of God since the world began.

The Scripture tell's us, in 1Corinthians 3:10; that the apostle Paul laid the foundation for Christ's new church the body of Christ, Paul tells us that this foundation is the Lord Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery. 1Corinthians 3:10 came after Acts 9:15. No one before the apostle Paul could have known about this secret because it was hid in the mind of God since the world began.

The foundation for Christ's new church could not have been laid at Pentecost! The church at Pentecost was already in existence with 120 members the Lord Jesus Christ called it the Little Flock! The Little Flock is that nation that the kingdom was given to. Do you understand, that the Gentiles could have no part in that church because it is under the law! Brothers and sisters in Christ, only the Jews were ever under the law. Paul was saved in Acts 9 and he was a chosen vessel unto God, he was the first member of the church which is called the body of Christ.

Conclusion

Thank you for reading this page. I pray that the information here in has been a big help to you in some way. I have enjoyed the research, and the verses continue to help me a great deal. Thank you for reading. Brothers and sisters in Christ so many questions could be answered if we would only read the Scripture literally for ourselves. Personally I am partial to the KJV without pseudepigrapha. The other versions leave out, add to, and twist a lot of important things in God's Word that I will not try to deal with here. Follow the apostle Paul as he followed the Lord Jesus Christ.

1Corinthians 11:1. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

The most important things to remember is covered in the next two verses. You study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, you study! When a person studies the Scriptures for themselves not depending on their Pastor or Priest to make you right with God through their understanding of what God says. Please look very close at these two verses. I did not realize how important this second verse is until I started studying for myself and remembering what I have been taught by the clergy all of my life. Imagine how shocked I was when I found out God was not talking to me, He was talking to the house of Israel alone.

But now through the writings of apostle Paul God speaks to me, if I want to hear His words I can read it out loud.

2Timothy 2:15. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2Timothy 2:16. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
